Phase 1 of External Inspection of Subsea Pipelines Completed

 In 2019

CCC (Underwater Engineering) has completed the 1st Phase of the external inspection of subsea pipelines, offshore Abu Dhabi.  The 1st Phase of operations were conducted between August 2018 and April this year, and covered 1,500 km of pipeline (214 pipelines).

The platform used to undertake the subsea external inspection was the CCC owned and operated Saab Seaeye Leopard 1706 remote operated vehicle (ROV). The WROV was fitted with three HD cameras, Valeport bathy suite, mini SVP, CP, UT, laser line generator, MCS PRC system and two Kongsberg M3 profiling sonars. The WROV was tracked subsea using a combination of a Sonardyne Mini-Ranger 2 USBL (Ultra-Short BaseLine) system from the CCC Maritime 2 multipurpose dive support vessel and a Sonardyne SPRINT-Nav 500 all-in-one subsea navigation system installed on the WROV.

The 2nd Phase will cover the remaining 102 pipelines and is expected to commence in Q3/Q4 this year.
